The NFLPA has the data: players suffer non-contact lower extremity injuries at a 28% higher rate on turf. Seven of the ten highest-injury NFL stadiums from 2017 to 2022 had artificial surfaces. The NFL owners met in Phoenix for three days and did not vote on any of it. They tweaked the kickoff rules for the third straight year and locked in nine more international games instead.
